Bienvenidos a Ecuador

Shout out to American Airlines for delivering me safely.

First flight twas' a red eye. There were two cats with the people in the row next to me, meowing almost constantly. I still managed to sleep through most of the 6 hour flight ...Shout out to Benadryl.

Second flight was only 4 hours and not too shabby.

I was met in the airport by a sweet man, Franklin, who happens to be my Spanish Instructor in addition to my airport to hostel transporter. Along the drive he told me a lot about Quito's food, culture, people, ALL in Spanish. I actually picked up most of it...I think.

I have a roommate, Carlee, for the first two nights who is also volunteering in Quito for two months. She is a great gal from Decorah, Iowa and we are hoping to travel on some weekend adventures together. Unfortunately her homestay and volunteer program is in South Quito while I will be in North. But hey, buses. Also we will be meeting our supervisor, Diana, together weekly in the middle of Quito to hang out and talk about how everything is going. Also meeting her tomorrow at 10 AM for orientation with Carlee!

Un abrazo
Zoe
